Help with Energy

From a young age I have suffered with anemia, which is basically an iron deficiency in the blood. My symptoms usually consist of:
  • extremely bad fatigue especially first thing in the morning when my iron is very low I feel so weak I actually feel like I can't carry on with my day (although I do and I have to!)
  • headaches - they are the bane of my life I have always been a sufferer
  • paleness! (one of the reasons why I love fake tan!)

When I had my second child I lost so much blood I needed a blood transfusion and since then it has got worse.

The lack of energy just feels so awful and demotivating. I literally don't make an effort with myself at all, I feel and look like crap. I feel like Im immune to coffee and caffeine now. I have looked for so many remedies and tricks to help, and the recommended iron tablets actually do not work for up to 6 weeks which then demotivate me more to even take them.

I think I have finally found a few things that help me day to day..

Firstly I need to say that water is so important! I'm trying my best to drink as much as I can, the only thing I usually drink is a tea or a coffee but I have started carrying around a water bottle in bag to help.

After a few days of taking the vitamin c it has helped me so much, I love these because they dissolve in water they get into your bloodstream quicker!

These tablets are some what a kind of natural caffeine

These Vitamin B tablets help aid fatigue and tiredness. These need to be taken twice daily and consistently for you to see a difference.

I hate leaving things out on my kitchen side as it really irritates me, but I'm learning to let go of my slight OCD lol! If I don't leave them out I wont take them so I keep them all by my kettle as that is the thing I reach for in the morning!

All my items are from Holland and Barrett, which I know is not cheap so if you cannot invest in all of them by far the high strength vitamin c tablets you add to water are my fav!

If anybody has any tips or suggestions that help them please let me know!

Hope this helps!

Half Term Tips

Luckily this half term is only a week (thank f**k) seriously I cant stand the busyness (is that even a word?) and just children everywhere!

Although there are a few things you can do at home, do you really want to be trapped indoors all week with terrors (screams)

The key to stay sane and get through the week is to plan.

  • Pre book the activities you wish to do, so you can avoid queues and waiting around with impatient kids
  • Hit the roads early - you're doomed if you even try to go anywhere midday, you could even lose your child in those crowds!
  • Making a packed lunch or bringing snacks for the kids to avoid unnecessary stops at busy shops
  • I always carry a spare set of clothes in the car - you never know when an accident can happen
The night before I make sure the boys clothes are out and ironed ready for the next day, and mine too. I cant stand looking/finding thinking of what they can wear because I just want us ready and out the door.
To avoid fights over who sits in the front they switch places each time we get back in the car!

If you are staying at home on some days:
  • Make sure the tablets are charged up for when you need to peace and quiet to do your housework!
  • If you can't be bothered like me I usually buy the cupcake mixes in the box and get the boys to help me make them. Of course if you prefer to make your own thats fine.
  • I also get bad anxiety from mess and untidiness but honestly there is no point even attempting to tidy up the toys until its time for bed!
  • Make sure your cupboards are full of food!
  • Creative activities are always good as they have fun and it takes up a lot of time!
  • Unless its extremely cold, a walk to the park for a bit of exercise don't hurt anyone plus its free!

Teepee Tent D.I.Y

Hi guys! and to some parents, happy half term! (yeah right) Im actually going insane so I had to think of a few activities/trips this week to keep them devils busy and most importantly worn out for when I want to send them to bed!!

For a little while I have been looking at #teepee tents. I think they're so cute and lovely for kids bedrooms. They dont look tacky and to be honest I get anxiety over colours and cartoons covered stuff!

I been hesitant for a while because even though I am in love with them, the prices I have seen for customised teepees are quite high for 4 sticks and a sheet kmt!

So I found a plain white (I love plain) tent and decided to customize it myself with the help of the boys. I bought all the bits in the same place so it was great!

I purchased it all from #hobbycraft and all just under £40!! (link is below)

along side the tent I purchased..
  • foam glitter stars
  • sticky letters
  • silver ribbon
  • fabric glue

apart from the star bunting around the edge is from #matalan

The boys really enjoyed gluing and putting the bits together. It kept them quiet and occupied for ages! They also felt so proud of themselves! I just finished it up with some blankets and cushions i already have and now they have a trendy den that they can play and read in. It also still stays within my colour scheme lol.

Final outcome below..

Hope this helps!!
